1. CREATIVE OUTLETS

We all need some sort of creative outlet. Even the urge to burst out singing in the shower is about this inexplicable need to create and express. (I sing often in the shower but it’s a miracle that the mirrors don’t crack from this offense to nature. Still, I sing.)

In this busy world, it’s a challenge to carve out the time to make creativity happen. It’s even harder to do so with any form of regularity and disciplined approach. I’m saddened deeply that my crazed schedule doesn’t allow me to take ongoing art or dance classes. But I have managed to wiggle myself into several writing contracts that put the yoke of deadlines upon my shoulders.

I love deadlines. It sharpens my focus and keeps me reined in from distractions. I adore editors who keep me on track and challenge me with interesting assignments and feedback. They’re like coaches for the nerdy set.

I'm saying this now because I just wrestled down another article. Why does this pleasure, which I love to do so much, causes me such difficulty and pain? Really... writing about sex advice for zombie lovers shouldn't take so long. But at least I enjoyed it.

Yup, a new book! I know - it's about time. It's really challenging to write creatively while on the road touring and teaching.

Dojo Dates: April 10 – 11 (Noon – 8pm both days)

Cost: $350 /singles, $650/pair

Prerequisite: Willingness for serious learning. Must be able to tie your shoelaces. No experience necessary. However, those with experience will be appropriately challenged.

Includes: 16+ hours of intensive training from four Dojo Cadres. Emphasis will be on balanced education focusing on "Heart-Mind-Hand" approach, covering rope skills, scene managements, psychology, history and more for both those who tie and those who are tied. Included: lunches, afternoon snacks.
